There are several books that summarize very well my artistic working approach/interest:
“What is really necessary to add to reality?” (1997) a basic question that follows me since I try to find out the need of an artistic intervention. “Sitzen im Ausland” (Sitting Abroad, 2000) questions the use of public space in three very different South-American cities. “Picnic city” (2001) searches for the minimum needs of a public intervention. “Starving for embarrassing architecture” (2005) believes that the solutions for architectural and urban developments lie in the ordinary banal and not in the high-class modernism. “Alles andre ist drin!” (Everything else is inside! -2005) comes back to the fact that in found situations and objects everything -history and future- is visible. “The beginning of the misunderstanding” (2011) is an archival book that examines the misunderstandings that took hold in the public consciousness alongside the International Modern and functional architecture. What are our notions of urbanity today and to what extent do they reflect our urban reality? It takes a sculptural view of the informal qualities of the public sphere and I see myself as an active archivist of the transformation of public space – some of which I effected, others of which I discovered.

Einige meiner Bücher fassen meine künstlerische-architektonische Arbeitsweise und Interessen sehr gut zusammen:
“What is really necessary to add to reality?” (1997) stellt immer wieder die Frage, wo und wann eine künstlerische Intervention nötig ist. “Sitzen im Ausland” (2000) hinterfragt das Bild und die Benutzung von drei sehr unterschiedlichen südamerikanischen Städten. “Picnic city” (Istanbul 2001) untersucht, was für eine minimale öffentliche Intervention nötig ist. “Starving for embarrassing architecture” (Los Angeles 2005) glaubt daran, dass die gefundenen, banalen Situationen die Grundlage für architektonische oder städtebauliche Entwicklungen sind und nicht die hochkarätige moderne Architektur. “Alles andre ist drin!” (Berlin -2005) kommt zurück zu der Tatsache, dass in vorgefundenen Situationen und Objekten alles – Historisches und Zukünftiges- enthalten ist. “The Beginning of the Missunderstanding” (2011) beschäftigt sich mit Missverständnissen, die sich mit der Internationalen Moderne und der funktionalen Architektur im Öffentlichen festgesetzt haben. Mit welchen städtischen Bildern leben wir heute und inwiefern stimmen sie mit der Realität überein? Es geht dabei um den skulpturalen Blick auf die informellen Qualitäten des Öffentlichen. Zum Teil verstehe ich mich als aktiver Archivar der Transformationen des öffentlichen Raums. Manche nehme ich selbst vor. Viele sind jedoch gefunden.
